  • Any good reference for electronics repair?

My son's amp fried and we found the culprit:

This is the type of amp:

There are a few that look burned, and one that is cracked. I'm not sure what they are, but this is a close up of one of them:

    Thanks for the input.

3000W huh? Never heard of that brand. Buy another flea market amp to replace it & recycle that chassis.

It was a purchase my 16 yoa was talked into by some other kids that do stereo stuff on the side. Dad was not in charge of this decision, because kids are smarter than their parents.

That is a throw away amp, just go to traders village and get another. If you really wanna try to fix it then this should be the right mosfet.

I wouldn't spend $.50 trying to replace those transistors..........usually the damage goes deeper than just what you can see meaning there's prolly more damage than JUST those transistors. What kind of or how many speakers is he trying to run on that amp? I'm asking because I have a couple of REAL amplifiers I'm thinking about getting rid of that most likely will eat that thing alive.

I'm sure it makes more power than my Linear Power 3002 or the 2202IQ in my truck......any bets?

Max Power is 140W. Assuming the amp is 100% efficient, it would take 22 of these. I doubt the amp has that many.

I'm not going this route again. If it can't be fixed, what 2000W amp would you recommend to replace it?

2 10" speakers in a box that goes behind the seat of a 1997 F150 single cab pickup.

The amp has 24 of those.

Lol. You don't need a 2000W amp. Especially not for 2 10" speakers. A REAL 400W amp will likely blow that one away. be careful though, if the speakers are the same shit quality.
