Sunrise in the gulf. You can barely see two rigs out in the distance:
Boomvang where we did most of our tuna fishing:

Me with my first yellowfin:
The boat had 40 anglers and we caught over 600 vermillion snapper, 240 tuna, half dozen small sharks, one 300-350 lb sandshark that was too big to land in the boat so the leader was cut, maybe a couple dozen triggerfish (damn those are ugly!) and hundreds of red snapper up to a max of 25 pounds. They aren't in season so they had to be thrown back after they were vented.
awesome... I want to do that. I'm welding up a surf fishing bumper for my Jeep, plan on doing a little this summer.

BTW - thanks for the links and prices. I'm trying to get a day trip together for my wife, dad, and I to go out. He lives in Houston so it's easy to head down to Galveston and possibly do something.
I've fished all my life but have never done anything of that magnitude. I think the largest fish I've ever caught was a 12lb catfish...

I know the New Buccaneer does not have the sleeping cots like the Capt. John, but the NB lets you bring your own food. That could get pretty damn cramped with everyone bringing a shit-ton of coolers on board.
The only thing I don't like about the Capt John was having the full 40 anglers on board. You are literally fishing shoulder to shoulder, and you have to deal with tangles. Luckily everyone around me was very nice and considerate. When it got late, I grabbed the Red Bull and 5 hour energy to stay up and fish since there was more room.
When the boat is moving from dock to bottom fishing, sleep. When the boat is moving from bottom fishing to the rig for tuna, sleep. Same with on the way back in.
I've been fishing on the Capt John twice, and both times sucked royal ass. First time waves were too high, went 5 miles out, turned around and came back. 2nd time was cruising through the bay, and the right engine threw a turbo. Cancelled both times, bitches.

Man, that sucks, but after being on a trip, I would rather cancel and get my money back than go on a trip and puke my guts out and not catch any fish.
