I don't remember the price. They have a number on that site. The do not go for tuna very often, but seem to have good success when they do.
I believe there were only 24 anglers on that trip.

Did everyone notice that huge MAKO shark in the middle? That's some damn good eating!

So how does that work? Do you keep everything you catch?

        Yes.

There is a group of older black men that come down to the pier and offer to clean fish for a small fee.

On the Scat Cat they have a cleaning service right at the dock. There are limits on certain bluefin(?) tuna which are larger I believe, and unlimited on the smaller blackfin. Only one shark, and you can keep certain species. The deckhands keep you informed on that. Also good to read the TX and federal fishing regs. They change somewhat often, so check before you go.

We have fished off the Galveston party barge (12 hour trip) many times, and the older black guys are cool as shit. They will argue with each other, that you are their customer.

I have always had really good luck on the 12 hour trip and limit out on Red LARGE Snapper, Ling, and grouper. Last time out, my son caught a very nice dolphin fish and a damn king. King + 10 year old boy = OH SHIT MOMENT!

Can't wait to hear why nothing was caught again. My guess is Mexican pirates take their boat and they all get deep anal penetration by a bunch of sweaty Mexicans.

If you don't do better than this we will all be disappointed!

A 738-pound Pacific bluefin tuna described by angler Nathan Adams as a "fish of a lifetime" may also be the largest Pacific bluefin ever landed on rod and reel.

The catch was made aboard an 18-foot boat during a recent competition off Houhora in New Zealand. If it's approved by the International Game Fish Assn., it will set an all-tackle world record, replacing a 716-pound 8-ounce Pacific bluefin landed off Westport, New Zealand, in 2007.

                      Rest of story here

We are back, and I caught 5 blackfin tuna and one yellowfin.

The yellow fin went about 23 pounds. The scales were missing from the boat, and they bled, gutted and packed the tuna on ice before we got back to shore.

I'm going to shower up and hit the rack for a few hours.

Oh, and the yellowfin I got was a marvelous fish. It is all sushi grade and I kept 3/4 of the fish. I gave one of the guys a 1/4 of it for helping me clean all of my fish.

I have about 5 pound of fresh sushi in my fridge right now.
