With that said I love mine. You either get it, or ya don't. I drove across Texas in it with no problems.

Lol, I hate valet. I've had my iPod and sunglasses stolen by them before. I know some people that work valet and tell me about how they take crap from cars all the time. Not cool.

as already stated, the ride quality is not just bad, but punishing on long drives. however, you stated it would be a weekend car. in that case, go for it.

If you're very tall (over 6' 2'') they aren't that easy to get in and uncomfortable as hell.

              In before CJ or Grape.

Everyone I've known that has owned one did not like it.

I'm 6'5 and drive just fine.

Only time a Viper or Viper GTS is fun or enjoyable is when you mash the gas pedal to the floor. Once the initial excitement of buying one wears off you'll come to realize that its cramped, noisy, A/C and heat were an afterthought, there is very little storage, visibility is poor, they have SHIT for suspension, they get beyond horrid gas mileage, they are expensive as fuck to insure...and they are outdated. Oh yeah...they're expensive to repair (parts are expensive and they're a bitch to work on). You'll find that the majority of the people who get excited about or care about them are teenage boys or cops. PERFECT midlife crisis vehicle.

Great track car, terrible daily. If you get a girl in it, she will bitch about getting out of it.

Other viperism is the hot door sills if it has side exit exhaust....I think the ones you are looking at are rear exit.

Parts are getting expensive since they are out of production....and tires are fucking expensive.

I have a 98 gts and love it,they handle pretty good and are pretty comfortable once you get inside (getting inside is the bitch).I've been out of state in line a few times and have no complaints.Normal maintenance is not to expensive but body panels are stupid expensive.I have full coverage insurance on my car and my 6 month policy was $498 (I'm 29) and a bank will not finance it unless you have more than 50% down or pay cash (that's what I did). You can take a ride in my car if you need to compare

I rented an RT10 for a week in Vegas and it is the only car that I have even driven that I could not keep the back end under control through various types of turns while under power. The suspension is not a well thought out design; think 1978 930 turbo. On the other hand one of my clients lent me a GTS for a few days and there is a day and night difference between it and the earlier car. I would enjoy owning a GTS but it is really not my style.

That's kinda surprising it ungodly uncomfortable for me to get in and out of and I'm 6'1'' and have no problem getting in and out of a SN95 with Kirky aluminum buckets.

I was thinking about getting one but got the Porsche instead. I still might get one in another year or two. The prices on them are very reasonable. The only thing ive really heard people compain about is the heat from the side exhaust
