  • Best iTunes Music Organizer??

So I have a slew of music I've ripped over the years, some as far back as pre-internet music lookup. (Like 40+ gig). My collection has become painful to manage and I'm looking for some kind of automation. The choices I've looked into so far are bellow. As my search continues, and/or folks post up their experiences, I'll update the list.

Feel free to contribute, bitch about iTunes/Apple, or just act a fool.

    List of requirements
    • Coexist nicely with iTunes. (Integration to iTunes a big plus)
    • Clean up duplicate songs, not just by title. (I like live and studio music of the same title.)
    • Resolve album art images
    • Fix track file names and make all file names consistent. (Some of my music has no meta-data, author, title, etc. e.g. Track1.mp3)
    • Intuitive interface/GUI
    • Cheap/free (I realize this isn't a likely option, so let's say it would be a "nice to have".)
    • Free downloadable demo (This should be for all software on the Net, but who knows.)
    • Windows 7 compatible
    • More??

    List of possible solutions
    • Rinse - a.k.a. Tidy Songs -
      • Pros
        • Integrates nicely with iTunes, almost intrusively
        • Removes Duplicate Songs
        • Repair Misspelled Songs, Artists, and Album Details.
        • Automatically finds missing artists, albums, dates, and genres
        • Add missing album art to your music library.
        • Super simple interface and navigation

      • Cons
        • $39usd
        • Uses Adobe AIR - I have no personal problems with this but some might...

    • TuneUp - Untested as of today.
      • Pros
        • Fixes mislabeled song info (Track 01 & Unknown Artist)
        • Removes duplicate songs
        • Fills in missing album cover art
        • Gets concert alerts, music videos, artist bios

      • Cons
        • $39usd yearly, or $49 lifetime

Please add any comments on your personal experience with any of the software listed above.

Music Player for the Internet of Things. Described as the iTunes for Android, doubleTwist brings you music, radio and podcasts everywhere. Free download.

        pros,
integrates with itunes, and syncs with droids and iphones.
        works on windows/macs
        airsync, can stream to xbox/ps3/pc's/mac.s
        supports airplay
has apps on market and itunes

        cons, it doesn't blow me.

rinse works fairly well, but be careful on auto, it will throw some completely crazy stuff out there even at 90+ % confidence so it's not perfect. I just went through by playlist 1 by 1, takes a lot of time with almost 28000 songs...lol, i'm not even close to done!

The only major problem I have with rinse is that sometimes it puts in "various artist" instead of the artist name if it's located on an album like "Now" or Best Hits of XXX Decade/year/etc...
