Planning a trip when I make it back to the states and was just curious what a normal person would spend on a Thurs-Sun outing to Sin City. I don't gamble and am planning on staying in a decent hotel. My main time will be spent walking around and drinking. Any ideas on what roughly I'll spend? Was thinking around $3k-$5k. Am I close? over? Way under?

That's over if you're not gambling.

If you're not gambling you're way high unless you just party balls at strip clubs and night clubs with bottle service. Unless you're going on new years. I spent about 5k last new years and only gambled a few hundred.

i'd say you are over. plus rather than walking around drinking, if you are playing they;ll give you booze. so hang out at a penny slot or something while you get a little buzz then walk around and pay for drinks. ive stayed at the mgm and the flamingo. get the cheapest room you can but since you wont be in your room anyway. trust me. also look at a map online and pick a hotel that is located center strip. i paid 700 a night at the mgm for a room i never saw and didnt really enjoy. it was on the very end of the strip and was so far of a walk to get to anything. the flamingo was like 100 a night central located and had a bad ass pools and cabanas. i had a way better time for a lot less money

Damn, that's way over! Chili and I usually stay a week and spend about $1000 or so. That's including gambling, food and entertainment. Our hotels are free though so that may be a big difference. Have fun!

I just got back from Vegas last week. A friend and I went for $300 each for the airfare and hotel. Stayed at the Excalibur because I got the room for $40/night. We had a much better time downtown at the Fremont Casino. The blackjack there still pays 3:2 and had better luck on their slots. If you weren't playing and just walking around, they had the best prices on drinks too. They had $0.99 margaritas, $2 jager shots, and $4 jager bombs. I ended up spending $300 for my trip, but I took $1k cash to play with. I ended up coming back with $900 and that was after paying for all my food, drinks, gambling, taxi's and tips on all the above. Didn't come home a big winner, but I had fun!

My wife and I went for our honeymoon. We flew out on a Saturday and came back the next Friday night. Had a friends mom book the arrangements.

                      6 nights at the Luxor
                      round trip tickets
a midsize rental car for the entire time
                      $1300

We took $1800 in cash for spending money. Everything we did or bought came out of that money. I had some luck gambling and we managed to come back home with $950 of it.

The trick is to do some research and look for the deals.

when my and my girl went in Oct this year we took about $2500 for fun. Hotel and rental car and airfare was taken care of .

Didnt gamble much but had a blast. And came back with over 1k.

Also if they are still doing it there is a place to rent out exotic cars right by there speedway. You can get 5 laps on there track in a lambo for $299. Something to check out.

I go to Vegas quite a bit, yes you can get a cheap trip Air, hotel, and car package cheap, but the food and entertainment is where you will spend some money. Go with a budget, and have fun.

What are you planning on doing? You would have to be eating Filet Mignon and Lobster Thermidor for lunch and washing it down with Louis XIII to hit 5k for 4 days.

If you don't gamble, $250 a day should be plenty.
