What the hell is up with getting tickets to events nowadays? You can't buy shit from the venue, as places like TicketFinder and StubHub have bought them all, marked them up, and even gone as far as adding $20-40 PER TICKET service charges?

It's pure bullshit.

I wanted to buy tickets to Daniel Tosh's standup in April and the total cost for two (near front) tickets? $376.75.

I completely agree I just bought some Mavs tickets for this weekends game and I had to go through stubhub or one of those places, everything goes through a damn ticket broker now! Then they charge you all kinds of service charges and crap on top of the ticket prices.

The service fees are ridiculous and should really be looked into by the government. Look, I'm all for free enterprise, but ripping people off with bullshit charges just to line your pockets is ridiculous. They get a cut of the money from the ticket plus all of the service fee. Delivery charges of $15 should also be outlawed, when it costs $5 MAX for the postage and envelope.

It really is a scam, you can't go to any concert, BB, Football, etc. without getting scammed. Just like trying to go see VH, almost $300.00 for two people, fuck all that.

It really is complete bullshit. I want to go see Tosh as well, and you cant buy fucking tickets for anything anymore through the venue. Every ticket besides a few in the nose bleed section go to these fucking ticket brokers. I just cant justify spending $400 for 2 tickets. Ugh, i miss so many concerts etc.. that i really would love to go to but cant because of this fucking BS.

Yup, I'd love to go and would gladly pay *almost* that much if I knew it was going to the performer, but 100% to the ticketing "agent"?

I pretty much gave up going to shows or any sporting events because of the raping that the ticket brokers give you. The DSO and Opera are about the only shows I still go to.

I couldn't agree with ya'll more. They charge you a "convenience" charge, but wtf is more convenient about it? It's the exact same process that we would go through buying the tickets directly from the source. Get on the website, pick out your tickets, pay to have them mailed to your house. If anything they're making it LESS convenient adding a middle man, and then charging us out the ass for it. Honestly, if a regular person was doing what they're doing, we would probably be arrested.

So there's no way to get around this shit? Some concert tickets go on sale tomorrow. Do I just bite the fuckin bullet and take it up the ass? CL and Ebay scare the shit out of me. I'd hate to shell out a couple hundo, get to the gate, and find out I have some bogus ass tickets.
