No, trailers are prohibited. Only motorcycles and multi-passenger vehicles. (without trailers)

Ok what I thought. I went down 635 at 6 yesterday with my trailer & wanted to jump on the HOV since I had someone with me. But didnt want to risk a ticket. So just spent 25 mins

Since were talking HOV can the trucks that park in the center median do anything? I see them parked there apparently doing nothing

The F-250's? Those are safety patrol. Their job is to help with traffic control on crashes and disabled vehicles.

I got a ticket about 8-9 years ago from a DART officer on 635 right before the 35 split. He lit me up, and I had no shoulder area to pull over into, so we ended up blocking traffic in the HOV lane for a good 20 minutes

I used to block traffic while moving over to the right so that we got onto the right shoulder if there wasn't anywhere to pull over to the left.

That's a bummer. What about the Department of Homeland Security guys? I see them roaming around.

Yes. Think they're like regular cops. Luis started out as one he could answer in more definition if he so chose...

They are cops just like any other department.

they should get rid of the hov lane on 75, at least...the only thing it's good for is causing a huge traffic jam, when they actually patrol it. there's nowhere to pull over, so the idiots that drive the hov with no passengers just end up blocking traffic for miles.

fwiw, i also think that, if you're at fault in an accident during morning or afternoon drive, you should not be able to drive for a month. i'm sick of sitting in traffic because some moron decided to drive like an idiot and cause an accident.

also, there should be an actual driving test, and if you don't pass, you should lose your license until you can pass it. i'd do it...there are too many idiots that don't know how to drive! we could weed a few of them out!

alright, i'll get off my soap box for now.

Good thing they're out there ticketing motorists using the HOV rather than trying to keep the criminals & murderers off the the DART trains & buses.

You obviously haven't been reading up. The reason why DSO is assisting with the HOV lanes is because DART pulled the patrol officers and put them on the trains. The traffic guys are staying on the HOV to work the crashes. From what I hear is there will be an officer on every train.

I got both you and Osiris beat. About 8-9 years ago too, I was heading WB on 635 in the HOV and got busted by a motorcycle cop (right before the 35 split) so same area as you, Silverback. Well, there was a very short distance widened shoulder where you could pull over quickly and stop to the left of the HOV lane. Well, the motorcycle cop hauled ass up behind me and I see the very short shoulder area and I pull over and SLAM on my brakes. The motorcycle cop pulled behind me, but had to swerve back out into the HOV lane to keep from hitting me. He ended up stopping beside my passenger window and he walked the motorcycle back behind my car and got off and walked up to my window.

He was a big (overweight) black guy and HE WAS PISSED. He started yelling at me about how he has a wife and kids and why I would do that, blah, blah, blah. I told him, the shoulder was very short and I pulled over and stopped as quickly as possible and I was "very, very sorry." Suffice to say, I got the ticket (I think it was $150-175 at the time).
