Hagal has said that he's 'sure' that the douchebag had a tough time over there and while the Army is looking into why he was captured, prosecution is unlikely.

This whole deal is nothing more than an attempt to distract the public from the latest
scandal of the week. Note how the VA debacle has now fallen off the front page...

No doubt this douche was a deserter and a traitor, but that makes no difference to the current administration... it's just using one scandal to displace another... and the more outrageous the better.

Our Country is F*cked until we git rid of these morons that are currently in office.

It appears the distraction is generating more negative press than the original scandal.

Sounds like he may not be completely off the hook. Although, I'm more than sure Oblammy and Hagel will but in to any possible Court Martial and make sure that their fellow traitor is taken care of...
              http://www.armytimes.com/article/201...ertion-charges

BRUSSELS — The Army may still pursue an investigation that could lead to desertion or other charges against Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl, who was freed from five years of Taliban captivity in a prisoner exchange last weekend, Gen. Martin Dempsey, chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff said Tuesday.

Dempsey also told The Associated Press in a telephone interview from his plane that Bergdahl’s next promotion to staff sergeant, which was set to happen soon, is no longer automatic because Bergdahl isn’t missing in action any longer.

Speaking publicly for the first time about the case, Dempsey said he does not want to prejudge the outcome of any investigation or say anything that might influence a commander’s decision.

But he said U.S. military leaders “have been accused of looking away from misconduct, and it’s premature” to assume they would do so in Bergdahl’s case, despite the soldier’s five years as a Taliban prisoner.

Bergdahl was handed over to U.S. Army special forces Saturday in exchange for the release of five detainees at the Guantanamo Bay, Cuba detention facility.

Service members who are missing in action routinely continue to be promoted on the same schedule as their peers. But, Dempsey said, “his status has now changed, and therefore the requirements for promotion are more consistent with normal duty status.” As a result, he said, other things needed for promotion, such as proper levels of education and job performance, would now apply. That makes Bergdahl’s promotion less automatic.

There are a variety of offenses related to an absence without proper approval, and a number of potential actions could be taken by the military. He could be tried by court martial under the Uniform Code of Military Justice for desertion; he could be given a non-judicial punishment for a lesser charge, such as being away without leave. And he could be given credit for time already served while he was a prisoner.

Dempsey stressed that any decision would be up to the Army.

He said he has not yet spoken to Bergdahl or his parents since the release, noting that medical personnel want him to come to grips first with his new freedom and status.

Members of Bergdahl’s unit and military officials have complained that Bergdahl’s decision to leave his base unarmed put his fellow soldiers in danger and that some were killed in missions that included looking for him.
"It is in truth not for glory, nor riches, nor honours that we are fighting, but for freedom - for that alone, which no honest man gives up but with life itself."

See though, the Army already conducted an investigation into his going missing. He was found to have left on his own volition. The Army and Pentagon already know this.

Something to think about and how he inadvertently or on purpose aided the booger eaters. He goes missing June 30, 2009. October 03, 2009, just a few months later, long enough for he and his 'captures' to get to know each other. They know that huge assets are looking for him. They discover that those assets are taking priority in the search and forcing Troops in Contact (TIC) to tough it out.

October 03, 2009, Combat Outpost Keating is targeted in a complex attack. Making matters worse, they were denied air support. Those assets were assisting in the search. The COP was actually over ran in a 12 hour battle that completely fucked that base. Being denied air assets was the biggest complaint of that event, even that same day. I was at FOB Sharana and was in the tactical operations center for a good part of that day.

So how about the bad guys filter HUMINT and SIGINT of false information of a Bergdahl sighting. Meanwhile they launch this attack at COP Keating.

Perhaps Bill "I sat out the war" Clinton and "Hanoi Jane" Fonda would be equally well suited as obammy for some photo-ops with Bergdahl.

From what I was reading, the WH is confused by the response. They thought that it would be a 'rally around the flag' moment and while there'd be issue about who was released, he didn't foresee the firestorm over this fuckbag.

NBC reporter Chuck Todd claimed the White House expected “euphoria” and a “rally around the flag” after Army Sgt. and probable deserter Bowe Bergdhal was traded for five top Taliban officials held at Gitmo — adding that the Obama administration has been “caught off guard” by the angry response.

Todd spoke Tuesday with MSBNC’s Andrea Mitchell about President Obama’s response to the questions surrounding Berghdal’s capture and release (RELATED: Obama Deploys ‘Sacred Rule’ To Justify Prison Swap).

“What’s caught the White House off guard here — they were expecting criticisms of Gitmo, criticism of the detainees that were chosen,” Todd explained. “They did not expect this criticism of the attempt to go get Bergdahl and the way that it was done. And that’s what caught them off guard and that’s why it looks like they’re on their back feet on this one.”

“I think they thought there would be some euphoria around this,” he later continued. “That the only POW that was remaining in Afghanistan, that there would be a rally around the flag. That didn’t happen.”

They were caught off guard by the fact that we got mad because they turned over the equivalent of 2 generals and 3 cabinet members in exchange for a deserter/traitor/enemy sympathizer?! That almost makes it sound like they are out of touch with reality.

                        Impeach. Obama. Now.

I wonder what some of the recently (within the past 5 years) captured booger eaters would say about Bergdahl. Did they know him? Had they seen him? Was he a prisoner or was he providing information freely?

At what point would the US have hunted this guy with the intent to kill him vs return him to his crazy daddy?

                              Oh shit.

Fox News’ James Rosen is reporting that Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl was under investigation by US intelligence agencies- not only during his final stretch of duty in Afghanistan, but also during his alleged captivity among the Taliban.

                              From Fox News:

A senior official confirms to Fox News that the conduct of Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl — both in his final stretch of active duty in Afghanistan and then, too, during his time when he lived among the Taliban — has been thoroughly investigated by the U.S. intelligence community and is the subject of “a major classified file.”

In conveying as much, the Defense Department source confirmed to Fox News that many within the intelligence community harbor serious outstanding concerns not only that Bergdahl may have been a deserter but that he may have been an active collaborator with the enemy.
if this is true, couldn't we just have hit him with a drone as legally as accepting him back as a 'hero'
Several important questions arise from this report:

Why did the Obama administration work so hard to release a man who is possibly a traitor, since intel agencies are investigating him for sympathies to the enemy? Plus, why did they agree to swap five Taliban commanders for his release?
Originally in 2010, the Defense Department believed that Berghdahl walked away from his unit, and it did not launch a major effort to find him. What circumstances changed?
Finally, given Bowe Bergdahl’s father’s history of controversial statements, e-mails, and online posts, whose decision was it to allow to him stand next to the president when the administration announced his son’s release?

The most important question: Is Bowe Bergdahl a hero or a traitor? Because with the “most transparent administration in history” at the helm, it’s anybody’s guess until the media starts putting together all the pieces…
Could my post (#52) have been more right than I had thought when I typed it?
Fuck you. We're going to Costco.
