iPhone question??

I have an old 3GS through att that will no longer stay charged. Can I go to the apple store to get a new one or do I have to go to the AT&T store to get a new one at the upgrade price. Sorry I'm dumb.

You could prolly get a new battery installed at any number of sources for damn near nothing...lot cheaper than signing a new contract with a shitty provider. Fuck AT&T.

From what I understand, repairs or swaps have to be done at the Apple store. I had to take my wifes 3gs to be repaired at the Apple store. I imagine you will have to do the same. I don't think AT&T does the repairs on Iphones.

Theres 30 thousand guys on craigslist who will do it CHEAP. Just do a simple search. I wouldn't take it to an Apple store because they just might wipe the phone and install the latest and greatest IOS...that works like SHIT on the 3gs...plus you'll lose all your apps and contacts. Been there done that.

If you are looking for an upgrade, check out Best Buy Mobile. When I bought my Verizon iPhone 4, they were running a better deal than Verizon was. $99 for an 8G at Verizon or $99 for a 16G at Best Buy. Same service and they were able to access my existing Verizon account and add the phone to it.

I bought one because my company pays for my ATT service but wouldn't upgrade my 4 year old iPhone 3G.

Considering all the bullshit in the press right now with ATT royally fucking its customers in the ass with a big ole smile on its face while waving its middle finger at them...I'm shocked that anyone would even consider upgrading anything with them...much less continuing service with them. What am I missing that makes AT&T so great (bear in mind I had service with them back when 2G was the latest big deal all the way up to last summer when I finally got sick of their bullshit).

My work phone is AT&T and I'm shocked that anyone actually pays money for their service. Call quality is awful, it drops calls far more frequently than my Verizon iPhone, and the nationwide coverage isn't even comparable to Verizon.

I wasn't even talking about the dropped calls, voice quality issues, or truly SHIT service anywhere outside of a major city. I was more referring to them price gouging their data, screwing their customers with unreasonable throttling methods and limits, and having such piss poor customer service they should change its name to customer disservice.

I replaced the battery on my with a $30 dollar kit from Amazon. Came with detailed instructions and links to videos -- no problem at all. Works like new too. I bought a 4S anyways...but now I have a good backup and/or iPod Touch. You DON'T have to go to the Apple store -- they will charge more than the phone is worth.
