I like the folks in El Paso, but am not happy about the violence. Spent a bit of time in/out processing for stuff at Bliss and for my current job. Never been across the border though...

Talking with the locals awhile ago, it does seem there are numerous "little things" that happen that never make the news. Don't know if it's just BS or true though.

Yeah and living here illegally is more scary in my opinion. Also, the wait is 7-10+ years is BS. This shit happens within a matter of about 6 months once you take the test. You see, not a lot of people are taking the test so its not like they have a backlog of test...

My wife was here illegally when she was 5, her mom took the time to make sure they both became legal within those first few months and this was back in the 80's...the system is more streamlined now and other than the higher cost it should not be that difficult.

Also, if you are caught here illegally, you have to wait 2 years before you can apply for legal entry. Guess they can’t wait, get busted, can’t wait again and get busted again. The second time you get busted you can be held in US prison (fed) for up to 2 years before being deported then you can spend up to whatever in Mexican jail if they chose too.

I think waiting (if you had too) 7-10 years much more appealing...
