....raised over $11,000 for the Texas Scottish Rites children's hospital !!!! Holy shit !!
The auctioneer we had could have done a better job explaining the items though. He just didnt know enough about what we do to accurately describe the items. One panel had metal flake on it and he called it "a mist covering". Really, dude ? There were some that were powder coated, gold and silver leafed and pinstriped, and on and on, and the fuckin guy would say a couple words about them and start "babada,babada,babada$20,babada,babada,$30.... .". I was really kinda disappointed in what some of the panels brought, but being our first year, we learned some things. I've got some reallllllllly cool ideas for next year to auction off.
There were close to 100 items that got auctioned off between Saturday and Sunday. This was the first year for the Pinstriper's Panel Jam, and we're already planning things and making some changes for next year that should bump that number up even higher.
There were 10-12 pinstripers in action all weekend with some REALLY nice work being done. I had a freakin' BLAST and at the end of the day Saturday my cheeks hurt from laughing and smiling so much.
Saturday was a loooong day. We started at about 9:15am and finally finished up and walked to the truck at about 10:15 pm. I painted so damn many cell phones on Saturday that I don't want to stripe another cell phone for a loooong time ! Haha ! Sunday wasn't quite as long, but still exhausting, nonetheless. Started yesterday at 9am and left during awards around 7pm.
All of us that were involved were BLOWN AWAY when the total was figured up. Absolutely awesome.
