The only charge he could face would be unlawful discharge or something to the effect. None the less, anything short of the death penalty for this man will only infuriate everyone connected with the case further more than they already are...Originally posted by Sean88gtYou can take white off the list. I don't know why the US border patrol is expected to not use deadly force, try sneaking into mexico and runninng into their armed foces guarding the Mexican borders, and see what happens if you start throwing rocks at them.
I'd wager the same or worse would happen in most countries around the world. Shit happens, stay the fuck away from dangerous places like National borders."If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses." - Henry Ford

Well I have to say that in the Middle East, this is a form of execution and while it may seem primitive, I guarantee that getting hit in the head by a golf ball sized rock can have consequences...I do not see a rock being any different than a bullet other than it is less accurate and requires more energy...Originally posted by Sean88gtYou can take white off the list. I don't agree with shooting and killing a kid for throwing a rock at the agent, especially a smaller rock from that distance (10+ yards) since it would be hard to cause serious bodily injury. However, we have entirely too many instances of drug runners and cartel thugs killing people along the borders (and quite ruthlessly), I would not want to be there trying to stop some teenagers from jumping the border and get killed by mob mentality. You don't know if there wasn't a dozen more little border-jumping brats on the Mexican side who were waiting to see if the coast was clear, or if it was the Cartel doing a little 'test' of the security at that point...I can understand why the Agent was jumpy, it seems like an intensely stressful position to have been in. Thats such a messed up situation. I'm glad the Constitution was upheld, though! I would be OK with that Agent being investigated for manslaughter charges.
Regarding the use of force in this instance, I guess my question would be more along the lines of, "how much force is warranted"? If the kid was 5 feet away from the Agent and leveling a brick at his head, I'm A-O-K with plugging him. This didn't seem to be such a viable threat though.Originally posted by PGreenCobraI can't get over the fact that you get to go live the rest of your life, knowing that someone made a Halloween costume out of you. Death by rock throwing had nothing to do with this case and you know it, so don't come back to that horse shit.
The little bastard was raising hell and deserved some punishment, but once he crossed the border, I think the officer should had just let it be, shooting unarmed people from across the border when they are fleeing seems kind of chicken shit, no matter how you look at it. Once he crossed the border then he wasn't an issue or threat anymore, so why the force?
Officers cried out for non lethal weapons to use in non lethal situations, what happen in this case? Throwing rocks doesn't seem like a deadly action, it seems like shit ass kids being shit ass kids.
I guess you'd find it okay if a cop killed some kids for shooting his cruiser with a paintball gun too?

Do you honestly believe that a rock is no different than a bullet? Even a slingshot isn't deadly at that range, save for a freak shot to the head that knocks him out and he falls, busting his head open on concrete.
Too bad he's dead, that kidls deadly arm would give him a hell of a career in the MLB.

The argument of a kid using a gun is less deadly than an adult is the same as the two of you saying a kid throwing a rock is different than a mob...you throw enough or a few that are big enough, you’re going to inflict harm at which point, if I was armed; I would eliminate the threat...Originally posted by Sean88gtYou can take white off the list.
