Texas Tornado U16 hockey one step closer to National Championship..

My son left on a charter bus on Thursday for the National American Prospects Hockey League Championships.

They were 2-1 and the only loss was a 1-0 nail biter.

Today they were scheduled to play the top team that was 3-0 and had scored 17 goals in 3 games and had only 4 goals scored against them all weekend.

My son's team brought the sauce and tied them 3-3. They won 4-3 in the shootout to go to the final game tomorrow.

I wished I could have traveled to Troy, MI for this, but dad's gotta stay home and work.

Congrats! I feel great pride seeing how youth hockey here is competing with the northern teams over the years. I played for the Dallas junior stars from 93-96, we used to send our best to places like Quebec and Minnesota, and just get demolished. awesome job guys.

The kids are pretty good, I think they could hold their own anywhere. The games are available on www.fasthockey.com

I watched the game today and it was a good one. The boys were down 3-1 and came back in the 2d period to tie it up.

There was no scoring in the 3rd period, and there was only one goal scored in the shootout, and there were 6 skaters per side.

Well the boys were down 2-0 in the third period and the coach pulled the goalie for an extra attacker. The other team scored an empty netter to win 3-0.

The boys are back on the bus starting the long trip home to Frisco.
