Nobody was at the shop to answer the phone?

I was going in early at 8 to let the wash crew in because one of the estimators needed a car cleaned up to deliver first thing on the morning. The production manager gave me his keys last night to get in the building and gate, and they just set me up a password last night as well.

I technically didn't have to be at work until 9, but I like the estimator and was being nice by coming in early so the car would be perfect when it went back to the customer. It's a 2011 BMW 550, so it's a brand new car.

So, the short answer would be no, there wasn't anyone at the shop to answer the phone until after 9. It is my bad for not calling the shop right at 9 to let someone know.

When we swapped the wheels the other night I think my buddy stripped the studs on that wheel by using the impact. Fuck. My. Life.

Yes on the '86. It's kind of a long story, but basically what it comes down to, is me driving down 75 merging onto George Bush and the steering felt REALLY weird. As I went along further, I started to get a rattle in the steering and very faint sound. I pulled over and looked at everything under the hood because I had it aligned at work last night. Pulled back onto Bush and it progressively got louder and as I took the overpass to get onto the Tollway it got scary loud. I took the first exit and pulled into the parking lot. Get out to find 3 of the 4 lug nuts on the right front wheel GONE !

That is scary man and could have been a lot worse. Atleast replacing wheel studs isn't expensive or too difficult. I've done it on my '92. Good luck getting it all fixed up and looking for a new job. Keep your head up and try and stay positive.

what a shitty job it is to be the QC guy. everything is a personal attack on the tech or painter.

i assume this is a high volume shop because it actually has a labeled QC guy.

Yeah, no matter how nicely I put it, every time I come walking up to a body tech or paint guy it's, "what do you want ?" or "what now ?!".

We do roughly $700k a month. $800-900k a while back, from what I was told.

Today was the straw that broke the camel's back. I was supposed to be at work at 9am. I had some car troubles, and have been sitting in the parking lot of PF Changs at the Tollway and Frankford since 7:55 waiting on a tow truck, and the stupid @#!*% @#!*% of an Office Manager calls me at 9: @#!*% -07 and says, "Where you at ?" I told her I was in the parking lot of PF Changs with car problems. She says, "Well, are they open ? What, are you going to eat lunch there or something ?" None of this, "is everything ok ?", "do you need some help ?", she just says "well when are you going to be here ?". I'LL BE THERE WHEN THE @#!*% TOW TRUCK PICKS MY GOD @#!*% CAR UP !!

Just dealing with the @#!*% estimators, and @#!*% body men, and a @#!*% @#!*% GM that doesn't ever want to get involved in anything and is only worried about his bottom line is enough to make me just throw my hands up in the air and say @#!*% IT.

The Office Manager lady is so crass, and she is such a @#!*% @#!*% . But she can do no wrong. I said something to one of the guys one day because he is a worthless waste of space and can't even do his job, and they set me down and told me I can't say stuff like that to people, blah blah blah. But she can be walking through the office, talking @#!*% and cussing like a sailor, and no one can say anything to her.

I'm going to start looking HARD for a new job after the first of the year, whether it's a full time job, or part time job and I'll just ramp up the pinstriping. I shouldn't have to deal with this @#!*% @#!*% .

Anyway, sorry for the rant. I just have plenty of time since I'm still waiting on a @#!*% TOW TRUCK !!! GOD @#!*% !!!
