What do you think causes it? Whitney death got me to thinking. Is it a chemical fuck up in us? Is it mental or a weakness physically? Crazy what some people are addicted to.

I think in her case and in a lot of Hollywood cases, its a mixture of boredom and having too much money to spend on dope. For some I think its a coping mechanism

With hard drugs there is the physical addiction aspect. Imo it is mostly mental though. The best I've ever heard it described was "Your first time is this incredible new experience, but you can never have that first time rush again. Addiction is trying get that same rush for the rest of your life. You just keep doing more and more, hoping that you will eventually do enough to relive that first moment."

I think it's a genetic hold over from when we didn't have everything we needed at our fingertips.

Addiction runs in my family and that is a huge reason I have decided not to reproduce

            addiction is addiction...

my dad's dad died of alcoholism. I lost my brother to heroin. I have my own struggles. I see no reason to create another human with the addiction gene.

FWIW, I get it done no matter what. I'm actually able to apply logic go a situation and do what's right. I can hold off of drinking for months/years. But the draw is always there

I've done a LOT of stuff that's seen as addictive that I have no desire to do. I wish I could enjoy weed like I did in highschool! LOL

it's the ultimate if you're not a paranoid SOB like me! LOL I LOVED that shit back in the day. I will take a baby puff here and there, but ONLY if I've had a couple drinks.

in the perfect world, weed is the only recreational drug

Willpower. Hell, I gave up masturbating in 2011, just to see if I could. You just have to be stronger than your urges.

It's good to be 'batin again.

lmao, I somewhat agree on the willpower thing. I actually quit spanking it to see if I could. I quit drinking for years also. But people who don't have any issue with consumption/addiction don't test themselves like that LOL

I have an addiction, but it's not to any outside chemical that I introduce into my body.
