The deal is, get an sim unlocked GSM phone, buy the ST phone, register the sim in the ST device , then switch to whatever you're going to use. Input the APN for ST service and enjoy.
you used to have to buy a phone and swap stuff, now you can just buy a sim for whatever type of device you have:
Lemme know how that works out for ya after a couple months of them losing your number and forcing u to accept a new one that works for a day or two. I wouldn't recommend straight talk to my worst enemy........I really didn't think it was possible for a company to be as piss poor as straight talk....boy was I wrong.
i havent heard that before. lose your phone number? i guess its possible but sounds like something went haywire on your account.
i'll try with my dads phone. im going to wait my contract out.
that guy with the blue tie is a fucking tool! yea he had some good points, but in the end he sounds like a fucking jackoff. the bald guy was realistic in pointing out that phone companies didn't plan on the usage that people would start to consume data. it's a realistic problem that happens in all over the world in endless situations
but as soon as he(baldy) said that the douche in the blue flips out saying IT'S THEIR PROBLEM, IT'S THEIR PROBLEM!!! he also compared it to giving someone free crack... wtf, IT'S A FUCKING CELL PHONE YOU FAGGOT!!!
this in a very loose way reminds me of the fatasses complaining about mcdonalds when they got too fat. a cell phone is not a life supporting utility, quit acting/talking like it is
I got the text message saying I was in the top 5%. LOL ! I have taken it into consideration when using my phone, but haven't noticed the speed drop off any, so fuck 'em.
Since I got this 4S, I'm on my phone a lot more, because the speed is so much faster than the 3GS I had before and running it through the wifi here at the house, it seems faster than my damn laptop. Luckily they don't count the wifi usage against me.

i think if you hit top 5% you get a warning. then if your next billing cycle repeats top 5% usage, they throttle you for the whole following billing cycle.

I bought a Straight Talk E71 directly from ST website after calling every wal-mart in the DFW area and them all telling me they didn't have the Nokia in stock (I read the entire forum on doing the sim swap and even posted a few times about it). When the phone arrived...I called ST customer service to activate it. AFTER they ported my number and the E71 still wouldn't work...I discovered that they had shipped the wrong SIM card with the phone..it was never going to work. It took another 5 or 6 phone calls to ST customer service before they FINALLY agreed to send me a new SIM card. The new SIM arrived in 2 days...and when I installed it the phone now worked...albeit now with a different phone number..and after several more hours on the phone with them..they admitted they had somehow lost my number and couldn't retrieve it. The new SIM and phone number worked fine in my Iphone...for exactly 3 days. After several more heated calls with ST...they told me the SIM card they sent me had "gone bad" and were going to send me YET ANOTHER sim card. They sent me ANOTHER WRONG SIM card which wouldn't work in the E71...and then I spent another 4 hours calling cust. serv. I requested a credit for all the probs THEY had created...NOPE...can't do it. I asked for a full refund...got everything in order...sent them back the phone via certified mail with tracking...and though it was delivered to them...THEY CAN"T FIND IT. I am STILL fighting with them to get my refund of $155.00....6 months later. I filed a complaint with the AG's office...who has HUNDREDS of similar complaints on file. There is a Class Action Lawsuit pending in Fla. against them.

They sent me the note, called and told them go for it. I will stream any and every thing I can find 24/7.
They keep wanting me to upgrade from my unlimited plan to a 5 gig plan. I ask her how the hell that was a upgrade when I get less and pay more? I forsee a court room for ATT in there future.
The way EVERY one feels about phone companys cant see it working out for them.

This is exactly why they're raising the fee. They're selling a device that cost $500-600 for $150-200. That's $350-450 they have to make up with the fee and the contract.
I was reading about this on Gizmodo the other day and they were whining like little bitches, talking about how it shouldn't cost $36 for a employee who makes $10-14/hr to do 5-10 minutes of work.
