The minute that the guy decided he wanted to run he lost all innocence . The way I look at it is it's just one less that I my tax dollars have to pay to be locked up or have a public defender.
How long has Mansfield been in Tennessee, McDerp?
He was chasing him for speeding. Doesn't say the kid was running from him.
And what a fucking asshole to not stop and render aid. Damn!
Now we have heard the 'other' side of the story as Matt puts it, and still no charges and no remorse, fucking unbelievable.
He could have dragged that kid out of the fire if he had stopped, there no way in hell that he knew the kid was dead before the fire...
The DA declined to accept charges, the kid was dead on impact according to the coroner, but still that does not excuse his lack of trying to do the right thing.
This article has much more details, and two videos:
That trooper is an idiot for saying what he did, "I was trying to put on a show"...
I've watched a man burn to death in a wreck. There is a point where your body will not let you get any closer to a fire like that. It's like a force field was holding me back.
I hope I never have to see another human burn to death like that, and I hope none of you do either.
When FD put out the fire, he was frozen holding onto the steering wheel, and you could not tell what color/race he was. All of his skin was burnt, and split like when you cook a hot dog....
If the guy was running from the cops that is sort of his fault........ If the kid was being chased for speeding that is even more dumb...
There have been several threads in the past where people running from the cops either crash, die, or cause harm to others and this is not the direction these threads usually go in.
Not agreeing with what happens but it seems silly.
im am not expert at puting out fires, but that guy sure does suck at trying. it looks like he is standing pretty damn far back and spraying the top of the flame.

A lot of people try to duck out and hide from traffic stops. It is actually pretty funny when you find them in the first driveway of an alley or coming out of a neighborhood you know better then them. No reason to be a dumbass though and not try to help that guy. I could see him passing it for a second if he was in hot pursuit (yeah I said it), but then his mind registering it a few seconds later and turning around. He could have had tunnel vision, who knows.
Don't run from the police you stupid motherfucker. Now you're dead. Good job.

What got him in trouble was the cop saying all that stupid shit afterwards. Hell, he could have missed the car - I didn't even see it the first time. Not at all out of the question. I think he handled the aftermath as poorly as possible, but honestly I do not see any evidence he actively intended to kill the kid.
