  • What mods can you do without voiding 100k warranty?

Aside from tires, is there anything you can do to an 2011 GT500 without messing with warranty? I've heard that the techs can see what has been done to your car somehow by reading the computers data. As in they can tell if you have a CAI and crap.

My girlfriend (with my influence of course) has a 2011 GT500 and I want to play with it but she has a 100k warranty and I dont think I can do anything but an air filter. lol

Just guessing here, but any mod installed by and only installed by a Ford dealer shouldn't void the warranty.

Will Ford Racing parts void warranty? I'd at least do axlebacks and go from there.

Your entire warranty can never be void. If there is an aftermarket modification on the car and it is taken into the dealer for service that modification has to be proven to have been the primary reason for any failure. If the dealer does indeed try to void warranty work or your entire warranty you may need to seek counsel and play hardball. Best thing to do is to leave it alone if you don't want the hassle or if you can find a dealer that understands.

Say you did a pulley swap and blew it up... then put the stocker back on - how would they know? Does the car log PSI? Is there another way to tell?

If you did a pulley swap you'd probably want to throw a tune on the car, which results in a P1000 code being stored. See Danny's chart for the outcome...

buy the coyote 5.0 swap wiring/pcm and then run the engine on a stand alone ecm, gauges would be a pita, but just put an aftermarket array in there and swap to the stockers if things go south. or just pony up the dough if something blows up.
