I'm not saying there aren't exceptions.

I have "acceptable" (chest, back, and two half sleeves) tattoos, those that I can cover with a polo. The reason I personally chose not to go any further was because I didn't want to eliminate myself from certain career advancement if someone ever had to make the choice.
Agreed 100%. I only have one "non acceptable "tattoo. Still not sure how I feel about it. I like the reason I got it and originally wanted people to see it.
Being on the low-low end of the corporate ladder, I don't feel it's hindered me so far. Only the future will tell though. Ideally I'd like to be self employed as the politics and BS are strong in an office.

Now neck tattoos are a whole different beast. Do not like!!! The rest of my tattoos (2 1/2 sleeves and both legs) are easy to hide under a dress shirt.
Although I may be an idiot, I'm no where near as retarded as the people I see at call centers. Routinely watch huge wheel donks, bumping their music right outside the main door. Keep in mind this office also houses a few corporate officers. I've seen them "hot boxing" these donks. Coming to work in ridiculous clothes and house shoes.

Lucky my job offers tuition reimbursement and I'm taking full advantage so I can get the fuck out of this type of job! I usually come to work, hardly talk to or associate with anyone and leave out the side exit.

Ahhh don't get cranky on us now. Most Uverse support is outsourced anyways.

Well at least the people you first call in those are outsourced.

I worked for Verio, who bought some of Earthlink's business and i think we got some of those people too , that is now NTT where DamonH works.

I started in the infomart, then moved to 8700 Stemmons when the billing and support call centers moved there. Then I went on to bigger and better things during the first layoffs after NTT bought them.

No you have to call and get a call tag then take it to a UPS store... they will box it and ship it back.

Al, thats the business i've been in, lol.

"Promoting from within" only really works if you arnt dealing with a bunch of High School Dropout/GED waving mouth-breathers. I remember constant scrambling as people "hired up" from the call center would be dealing with taking calls from important clients and treating them like they were idiots. Same in the medical industry. Sorry, you dont just tell a $15MM client that "we haven't ever done things different and aren't likely to change". I remember one of my bosses turning almost purple in the face when he heard the Customer Service rep had said that.

Takes a certain kinda dumbass to think they're going to get all those visible tats and be just fine on the job scene.

Agreed. Same for making your earlobes look like a pornstar's stretched-out asshole. Those gauges you thought were cool just fucked you out of career advancement.

I will say that body modification is far more acceptable on the west coast vs. anywhere else in the US. I still don't think a VP or C level position is in their future but probably more room for advancement.

I have never seen anyone in an advanced position wearing jeggings or pajamas or an XXXL t-shirt either.

Some people just dont get it.

The ride up on the elevator is usually spent listening to these people complain about other people which is completely ironic to me. We had a tornado warning a year ago, the alarms went off in the building and almost all of these idiots stood in the center of the building 8 stories beneath the glass roof (I work at the Infomart).
That fountain is magical. It will likely ward off any danger.

Side note... that glass is thick stuff.
