    Anyone play the mandolin?

    I've played the violin for a number of years and I've had a mandolin laying around that was my mom's that she never learned to play, and I've recently got the urge to learn to play it. I've picked it up and, only using my thumb, have been picking out some old violin sheet music i have laying around. I need to get used to/comfortable with using a pick. Anyone have any tips/suggestions/resources I could use to learn good picking habits/technique?

                        You guys don't like bluegrass? Mandolins aren't just for shitty Italian music.

                        I never got beat up as a kid because I was the crazy smart kid who sat in the corner that nobody wanted to fuck with because he might light something on fire.

                          Probably the type who could coast through high school with a 3.97 gpa without doing homework, then figured if you could make an A without doing homework, why waste after-school hours going above and beyond.
