I prefer grilled items on gas to charcoal. Charcoal alone sucks, and tastes wierd.

Lump charcoal is a bit better, and wood is fine. But for nightly grilling or a quick something to eat, gas is the way to go. Turn on, wait 2-3 minutes to warm up, cook, turn off, clean, cover.

The time difference is maybe 5 minutes. If that's inconvenient for some then so be it. 5 minutes to have a much better product is not my definition of inconvenient. To each their own.

I bought this one almost 2 years ago and haven't had any problems out of it. It has ceramic coated grates so the remnants from the previous gill brush right off after you warm it up. This one has a little drip tray that you have to empty every so often. I also have to clean out the bottom every now and then but I guess that's just maintenance. So far it lights up everytime with the built in starter. I've tested the side grill and it works pretty good but it doesn't get much use. I was hesitant to buy it at first because of the price, but's it's actually been a pretty good grill.

I completely agree, but I would like a gas grill for ease of use. They don't have the same flavor as a nice charcoal/wood grill, but when you're only cooking for yourself or one other person, it's too much of a hassle to be messing with.
It's all good. Whatever works best for you is all that matters.

Charcoal, or at least Kingsford charcoal, starts up much faster than it used to. I've never owned a gas grill, but those that do most often prefer them over charcoal.

the gas works better for me as the wife travels a bit for work. Jr has sports 2-3 times a week so after working all day, then coaching his teams, its just as easy and a ton healthier to fire up the grill and eat in 10 mins than it is to stop and pick up fast food. i doubt i would do that if there was any more involvment than turning on the gas and pressing a button.

                          god bless.

A little over your price, but this is what I'd go with if I were you. That way you have the option for charcoal if you want. I have a $600 s/s Perfect Flame gas grill, and a cheap ass charcoal grill, because I like to use both. I prefer charcoal flavor, but the convenience of gas is nice. My PF grill is awesome, but if I were to do it over again, I'd go with this one, simply to save space. I have to keep my smoker at a friend's house down the street because of the space dedicated to having two damn grills.

My buddy has had this one for 5ish years, and it's been great. Jluv has one as well. Jeremy's has held up awesome, and it's been stored outside (though under a cover).

Spend a little extra and get at weber, or go really cheap like I did and when it craps out you won't feel bad. I've been using my $89 two burner from Academy about once a week for over 2 years now without any issues. I do however store it in my garage so it doesn't see any weather.

This is the one I've got.
