  • Found: my old '28 Model A coupe in upstate NY

Got a text from a friend last night: "I swear this is your old coupe."

Turns out my friend has a bike he's looking to trade away and wants another hot rod. This turned up in his search and he's thinking about trying to get it back to Texas.

Looks like the chassis is the exact same as I built it (except for that damn camshaft spreader bar) and it still has a TX title.

    Things that were changed/added:
The 3x2 setup I sold with it is on there
    Turnouts on the lake pipes
Interior installed (bench seat, gauges, door panels, but the same dash support, column support, wheel, etc)
Rear window frame installed and roof joints filled
Steering box changed from a Vega to Flaming River
All of Aaron's pinstripring is gone

I built my part of it (starting w/ a bare frame) in 6 months from late '07 to early '08, took it to the Roundup, got burnt out and sold it to a guy in Austin in the fall of '08.
Of course the ad for it says: "this kickass little rod was built about a year and a half ago by a guy in austin texas"

    Here's how it sits now:

Some shots from my part of it:

I remember in Canada when you drove it to the roundup (right?). Pic said "Austin or bust". Super fucking cool.

Still looks pretty cool. I wish they would have recreated the Leatherback instead of that funky little top they put in it.

Looks damn good. I hope he had absolutely NO other options for a shift knob. Damn...
