If I've pulled someone over for a registration or inspection violation in error, I usually just let them go without checking DL or Ins. All that is based off of if I dont see any contraband in plain view.

I've been pulled over several times for minor speeding and the cop just looked at my license and insurance and sent me on my way without ever taking them back to his car to verify them or look for warrants.

And jailing any illegals. They can do hard work for a while to pay for their stay.

Politeness goes a long way toward achieving that end result.

Pulling someone over by "mistake" is very, or should be, very rare.

If it were to happen, I would not even ask for anything, since it was my mistake to begin with. The officer could always ask, and if any subsequent violation arose, could claim the "good faith exception" in court.

I try my damnedest to be correct every time. It's my reputation and credibility on the line if I make a mistake, and I don't like making them. We have enough idiot officers out there, the public doesn't need another bad example.

I wouldn't have a problem personally with having my DL and POI ran, whether or not it was a mistake being pulled over. If it gets one more uninsured driver in trouble, it was worth it.
Good luck with that. I have yet to see an uninsured driver towed or given a ticket.

Still waiting on Mr Mexico plates and insurance to pay up from my accident, the cop said it looks like real insurance. How could insurance from Mexico be valid here?? Ya its not, luckily I have good insurance.

Go ahead say I am a racist, I will agree, I am a racist against little weinners, whats your point!!!

Profiling would be my first choice in law enforcement methods. Arizona FTW.

Really bright police officer who says Mexico insurance looks like real insurance.

The only thing I would do different is copy their info down for our wonderful racial profiling form before apologizing and sending them on their way.

                            Are you kidding me.

I hand out NO INS tickets like candy. If we had a policy to tow, I would. I tried back in the early 90's to tow for NO INS, but city legal stated we could not seize private property without due process. Besides, we don't have enough space at the pound to keep thousands of cars.

And LULAC would call it racist, because it's the minorities that usually don't have insurance, and that's just not fair.
