  • What should be done 1st?

I am going to put my ride back on the street and it has not been tagged or inspected in 3 years. So my question is after I put it back on the policy, what should be done first, tags or inspection?

Get pick up the tags in another car. Then take your car straight to get it inspected with the tag in hand. Have them put the stickers on for you.

I'm thinking that naked pics of your old lady should be posted first.

I've thought about what he should do first, and I these are the first instructions that should be followed.

Won't a current inspection be required to get tags?

Just remember that you'll need current insurance to get either of those.

3 years? WTF, Patrick? You must have torn her up pretty bad!

It must have a valid registration to get it inspected.

Since when? Expired registration never mattered when I did inspections.

No, just trying to keep the miles off of it.

Weird, I got denied an inspection because I didn't have registration. Maybe you should check yourself, before you wreck yourself.

Ah...Good! I remember you bought that '93 new, right? Not many guys on this board can say that.

The only time you have to do one before the other is if you're getting it registered in an emissions county after it's come from a non-emissions county; then it has to be inspected and pass emissions before you can get it registered.

Registration has nothing to do with getting a inspection. As has been posted if your moving into a emissions county you need to have the inspection done on a emissions vehicle before you register it.

Sounds like you picked a brainless inspection station. Inspections are my bread and butter, there's no requirement for registration. I would make them show it to you in the book and when they can't report them to DPS.
