What blows my mind is that it's CDL 101 that all of the nice pretty yellow signs are telling you this moderately important information. These companies just let anybody drive down the road these days.

Super. This means they've found a reason to delay finishing that football fucking cluster fuck of an expansion project wormhole even longer.

Where was the lead escort at? And if you think that's bad, you should see the roads and places they shoehorn rigs here. I'd hate to drive a heavy load 18 wheeler or hotshot.

Some of the guys that drive those trucks are idiots (oil field). I used to live with an oil guy who did just this -drive equipment. Him and everyone on his crew were messed up with drugs and crap.

Prob didn't have one. As far as I know a standard SCR set on a trailer is not oversized height wise... didn't think they needed pilot cars when moving them.

DOT height limit for a trailer is 14'6".

This bridge just happens to be 13'6" right now.

They probably not required to have an escort. Only when load is a certain height requires front pilot car equipped with a high pole. Same same with width, used to be 14 ft. Heck they may have been on route and some dumbfuck at the state permit office routed them that way, seen that happen before. They are guilty of not knowing the actual loaded height (obviously over 13 ft 6 in).

Its heights of 17 ft and up require high pole. Anything over 19 requires route survey. Company i was leased to required high pole on anything over 15.3ft.

Yeah, with a genset height of ~116" (base skid + radiator), plus the drop deck trailer height (42" avg ?) and a bit for the roof on the genset they were actually probably very close to the 13'6" height of the bridge.

The first unit made it under but had the roof torn off... the second, judging by the marks on the pavement, got thrown off the trailer as he tried to slam it to a stop before going under and never actually touched the bridge.

I want to say our single drops were about 3ft 3in(bottom deck). LOL @ the missing left fuel tank.

There were 4 trucks. Only one didn't hit anything.. Few rear ended cars and a lady was so close to the rigs and people rear ending she left with out a hit to her.
