"Yeah, I understand you paid me to do this, but still yet, I put my life on the line for you, I put my health on the line," Dorsett says. "And yet when the time comes, you turn your back on me? That's not right. That's not the American way."

Although I have no real opinion of the story, am I the only one tired of hearing "entitled" being used so much and loosely lately?

I consider some lady sitting at home with 8 kids bitching about her welfare checks not being enough as entitled. Not someone who did a job and believes that their health was put at risk.

I don't see how this case is any different than people claiming companies at fault for chemical exposure, asbestos, etc. They were affected later on in life by head injuries they did not know where going to shorten their lives.

            Should be an interesting case.

They engaged in a GAME that involves slamming yourself as hard as you can against people bigger and smaller than you are, repeatedly, taking hits that slam your head into the ground and oh wait, they could have, at any time, bought health insurance to cover this. Instead, they took the millions, blew it and are now thinking they are entitled to something

They're modern day Gladiators. They're just fodder for the public and they're in it for the glory. Sorry if your ego was so weak that after everything you realize you were just a tool and don't like it.

It is different because many of those cases involve exposure to things that weren't considered harmful at the time. Every reasonable person knows that concussions and broken bones are going to have long term effects on the body. These people knew the risks, negotiated a price to assume those risks and then played the game anyway. They have now spent all the money they made and want to come back and change the terms of the deal they made? That's crazy.

There will be a settlement to make this go away though.

If the players can prove the NFL knew it was harmful for the players to keep playing and still put them back on the field, the players have a strong case.

As for the insurance issue, no insurance company is going to carry them with these pre-existing injuries.

LOL! The player doesn't have a say in all that? People need to sack the fuck up and have some accountability.
