Yes, I am an equity analyst at an investment bank. I cover stocks in the telecom infrastructure and data networking industries. We forecast financials, establish price targets, and rate shares buy, hold, or sell. I am privy to a lot of non-public info so, of course, I'm restricted from any activity with those companies. I do not trade any shares in my coverage universe - it's difficult to maintain independence and objectivity when you own the stock you're publishing a report about imo. Further, any trades or assets I own are reported to and reviewed by compliance and the regulatory bodies.

So your work is limited to a specific segment of the market, that makes sense. I was thinking you worked in a more broad spectrum and you couldn't trade at all. I figured I was missing something because that just wasn't adding up.

At $85 I wouldn't touch it, it is a rip off at that price although there are plenty of sheep who can't wait to get in the barn at that level. I have a nice stack of shares that I paid $59.20 for. I love it at that price.

Completely. We just take some backward-looking metrics like sma's and share price 2 years ago and make an investment call on it.
