I didn't say Survivor was the first. Real World was around, but Survivor connected with all of main stream America on network tv, which really kicked off reality tv.

Real World was confined to MTV with teenagers and early 20 year olds. Survivor was broadcasted to the masses. Grandparents, middle aged white guys, everyone. It had a much bigger affect than anything MTV put out.

Did not like either of those shows either, and I was in their demographic. I liked real world for around 2-3 episodes, and then it was obviously the dumbest thing. Sadly, all the other generally copied the drama and added in bells and whistles
