Paid my wifes car off last month and all I have left is my house payment. I havent listened to Ramsey but I was just very smart the last three years with money and worked a little OT but not a big fan of that either. My wife has a new Versa and I have a 90 Bronco and a 96 HD Electra that runs great. We live in a ok neighbor but my house payment is cheaper then rent. I am putting the wife thru school with zero student loans and she will be an athletic trainer which is her dream job. When she gets out and is making decent bucks we are going to save a few months and buy me a new truck then save and buy a nice house with some property further south. I have no idea what sparked me being frugal but the further I get out of debt the more I enjoy life. It is comforting to know that if something happened to me tommorrow she would be just fine. Plus it is nice not being tied to a job or place because of money.
I think it is because I see to many working class people like myself still working when they are like 60-70. Fuck a bunch of that 51 and I am out travelling.Last edited by kingjason; 12-10-2010, 01:06 PM.

You can walk into the bank and draw out as much as you want. The restrictions at ATMs are for your safety.

Im not a big fan of the debit card, but it is convienent nowadays. I use cash only on regular purchases or perishable goods, like gas and food. I'll never understand people that charge a dinner and pay intrest on food they ate last month, or gas they already burned. I like to budget these items because I can always eat pbj's or drive less when the cash flow is low. Irregular expenses usually get charged. I don't mind taking a hit on intrest for parts or entertainment items. That's my system for the past ten years. I have written less than 20 checks since 2007, all bills are paid online. I have two savings accounts, and I check the balance on one every 3-4 months just so see my saving progress and to feel good about blowing $50 on whatever.
