A lease is still a good idea here but he'll need to make sure it is written up with enough miles per year.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?
You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

Sorry for the long reply...but answers to the questions:
Yes, Im in Hawaii, otherwise I would have called skip. (unless skip can work something out that includes free shipping)
Biggest items I have to haul around will be stackable tool boxes and maybe a 400lb hydraulic press or two. Finances depending, I may purchase a dirtbike down the road.
As of right now, Im only doing about 50 miles a day. (the island is 48 miles across from tip to tip...dont have to worry about putting 40k miles a year on a truck)
They wont reimburse me for anything older than 4 years...so at the 4 year point, Im looking at getting rid of the vehicle (IE, I will lose my ass on a kia, ranger, etc) I may be willing to come out of pocket an extra $100 or so for a payment, but it would have to be something I really liked.
