South Irving usually has a few guys parked along belt line rd in the parking lots doing the same... but they're on the clock and dispatch knows when they're busy on a call or not.. it's not like they check a car and gun out and leave for 8 hours of mystery.. lol

This....especially south of Rock Island; Or in the grocery store parking lot. You also see them on a cell phone most of the time at which point I noticed they really do not pay attention to what everyone is doing.

No cell phone, you had better watch out.

Someone made the Cops reference, which is totally true.. Until my first ride-in I didn't realize how much paperwork the average patrolman must do. It's crazy. Watching Jimmy pull out his rulers to "draw" an illustration of an intersection for a hit and run report was interesting.

BTW, that hit and run was the first call we took at like 8PM and I think he was still working on all of the supporting paperwork, between calls, until like 5AM when he dropped me off.

They have to be millimeter perfect! We have a computer program now to draw the diagrams. It's gonna be a couple shifts long now!
