Then again, the guy I rode with is old and could barely see to write.

I saw that stolen van! Or suburban? Can't remember."People sleep peaceably in their beds at night only because rough men stand ready to do violence on their behalf. "

I think it was a Suburban..
Someone made the Cops reference, which is totally true.. Until my first ride-in I didn't realize how much paperwork the average patrolman must do. It's crazy. Watching Jimmy pull out his rulers to "draw" an illustration of an intersection for a hit and run report was interesting.
BTW, that hit and run was the first call we took at like 8PM and I think he was still working on all of the supporting paperwork, between calls, until like 5AM when he dropped me off.

I've taken "reports" from women out cheating on their husbands and when caught, want to call the police and report a rape, I've taken reports about stolen cars from white guys that swear they were had gotten lost in Stop 6, but have previous arrests for drugs (dope-loans), and scorned women who want their baby's daddy arrested because he beat her and now she wanted him out of the house (had one woman claim he beat her head in with a brick, but she didn't have a scratch on her), etc...
