Maybe something happened around there and he's been told to park his car somewhere and hang out? We had a drive by on our street a few months ago and cops will sit on our street for hours from time to time. What a bunch of jerks, taking advantage of the system

We are told to do reports in our cars so there is no hanging out at the PD. I eat in my squad, and do 90 percent of my paper work. Just sitting in a neighborhood prevents crime. Sorry who would have known. My recruit did five hours of paperwork in the car last night over a 12 hour shift and one hour in the station. I ended up driving around while he tried to type. We did one major accident with four injuries, one case for AA-DW FV, two offense reports, one stolen recovered, one incident report and answered around 15 calls. Milking the clock I tell ya.

My guess is what coop said. He was prolly eating his lunch, we cops can still do that right(?), and doing reports. Most of not all DFW PD's use laptops. These laptops have our report writing software on them. The mindset from admin and the citizens is pretty simple. You are a better deterant when seen then at the pd behind a pc. And I bet yalls cars didn't get broken into .

I do enough as it is (quarterly, annually, and sometimes monthly if sales are really down. Fuck having to write a report on nearly every single thing you do. That would drive me nuts.

ok so you have probably an 85/15% of good85%/15%lazy/bad/crooked cops... when i was younger i got messed with and they probably had every right to do so (i smelled like pot, looked high etc)... now days i show them respect and they show me the same... even been let go for being polite.

If i was chief of police i would want paperwork dont in the car as well unless it was an arrest because my patroll men are still in a running car in the city
