I, and I imagine a vast majority of the "choir" you're speaking about had that same mentality, but with the prevalence of this kind of thing happening it's no longer a "they'll fix it" kind of issue, action must be taken. And regardless of whether you agree with it or not, discussing it here on the internet is doing something to address the situation. It lets others know that it's happening, what they can do to protect themselves against it, and how to spot the early warning signs that something like this is about to occur. (the last point depends on how much information we can gather about the situation)
Fair enough. So, what do you plan to do about it?

Certainly. But all it takes is one irresponsible person to kill another carload of innocent people by making the bad decision to drink and drive. Someone needs to police those who find it difficult to police themselves.

Nevermind, you completely missed my point.

Most people I talk to have nothing but good things to say about you, but you sure come across as a condescending prick. Do you have an inferiority complex you've attempted to overcome through overachievement? Or were you fondled as a child?

You and slow99 should date. You both have passive aggressiveness down pat.

I do it on this message board every time I question an officers methods, motives, and justifications. But a majority of the time I post FTP stuff I'm just fucking with 'em.

It does almost no good to bitch at the brass and bureaucrats, they just like to blow smoke. If you bring it up to the officers themselves unless they're total shitbags they'll see what's going on and keep an eye out for that kind of thing, in effect policing themselves.

^^ the bolded part is all opinion and probably idealistic at best, but meh.

I am just joking, good for you losing weight and getting to your target.

In my opinion, all of the political and theological discussions that take place on this board don't really do anything more than drive wedges between people causing unnecessary friction at the sake of just doing it. It doesn't change the state of anything in the real world.

As for your comment, does anything any of the officers on this board say change any of your behaviors?

Don't you think you've driven enough wedges between yourself and others, to the point of physical altercation, at the sake of just doing it?

If you show someone that they are wrong, and they are willing to listen, it will cause them to reevaluate what they do. I have yet to have an officer present anything that would cause me to change my behavior. I, on the other hand, have made arguments that should cause the officers on the board to change their behavior. No, that's not an "I justify it in my head, therefore it should be justified in yours." statement.

I think you have me confused with another member. I've only had one fight and it was prearranged and organized. Other members have had altercations at GTG's out of anger, but I have not.

Agreed, but it only can work if it's done in a reasonable manner. The FTP threads typically are filled with insults, sarcasm and aggression rather than reason and logic. Typically when the insults start flying, the communication stops and no one is listening any longer which is why I say it's a waste of time. But that's just my opinion.

If she didn't do anything wrong then why take the memory card? It took 3 HPD's to take down a little women. Must have super human strength after giving birth to 3 kids. Thats some bullshit. That happens all the time in H'town.

If the police did mess her up and take her card, I want to see every one of them involved charged with aggravated assault, theft, intimidation, 1983 violations, civil rights violations and anything else that can be dug up.

Hammer the police who fuck up FAR harder than anyone else and you'll start seeing them act more honorably.

                      Our Position in Brief

We believe that when a person is lawfully present, that person has a right to document police conduct.

We believe that right is secured through the First Amendment and Fourteenth Amendments of the U.S. Constitution. We believe a person has a right to use electronic or handwritten or other means to document the conduct. There can be no law abridging the freedom of speech or of the press, and the freedom to write, create, and publish elecronic media is part of our individual freedom of the press.

The mere fact that you go out of your way to inquire about a supposed incident that allegedly took place over 12 years ago shows you are mentally unstable, and the way your PM was written... Holy fuck...

It may or may not have taken place 12 years ago, but it gets brought up quite often around here. The two sides of the story are completely different. I was just being cool about it out asking your side of it. No need to get hell bent over it. lol.

You edited it to add that as your last little quip? Really? Weak. I'm not insulting you or being rude, I simply asked for your side of the story in a PM. One side of the story is you got your ass beat and your side is complete denial. Pretty extreme opposite sides of the story.

Now, you want to make a big deal of it for the sake of drama where there is none. And to create that drama, you point the finger at me using schoolyard insults.

And you say that I am unstable? lol.

Steve, are you sure you aren't just trying to flip the script? I mean, we're all pretty sure you are unstable. Not to say he isn't. Just tryin' to keep it real!
