Because they know all BITCHES are money grabbing WHORES. So they side with them for us to give them money saying its all our fault this happened.

Then they use that money on themselves and not for the kid or kids.

    Takes two to tangle.

Just another way they are making money for the goverment. They have managed to maintain the CS system for 40 years so far. Now all the sudden. They get $6 a month per case? Im not sure how many deal with CS or recieve it. But I would imagine its got to be way over 300,000 in Texas alone!

Now thats alot of money at $6 bucks a month & lets not forget the annual $25 a year now!

Must have been nice to live in the Golden years of our parents in the country & then pass all the debt they accumlated over their lifetime to their kids to pay off!

Sorry im just on a Goverment Rant here lately

If, and only if, the mom was truly unfit, then it would probably be best to just take the kids with you since you would already be breaking the law.
Unfortunately or maybe fortunately, my kids mom is a great mom. She is just a money hungry savage that makes me regret having a penis sometimes

Or...in his highly emotional state of mind could have made some exaggerations in his retelling of the story. Just a thought.

First off, it all depends whether it's full custody or joint custody.

In Texas, if doing joint custody, they take 20% (for one child) of each parents income and the parent that makes more money pays the other parent half of the difference each month. That way each parent has the same amount of money to spend on the child each month.

I don't know how they figure child support when one parent has primary custody. Never been through that.

And, contrary to popular belief, this is a recommended guideline, not a set amount. My income varies significantly from year to year (bonuses and side work). The attorney took my last three tax returns and used that information to determine the child support amount. I told my ex it was unfair since I had a really phenomenal year in there and she agreed to a significantly reduced amount each month. The attorney said the state formula is suggested and we could do whatever we agreed to. Thankfully she cooperated.

Yeah its suggested but when she isn't agreeing to anything less, that's what she is getting

Absolutely, positively, completely not true. I don't know where you people come up with this nonsense.

I must have seen 6 family law attorneys, had the consultations, and even sat in on a few hearings to see how they operated prior to making my selection.

In the end, all I had to show for it was what I would have gotten on my own with the exception of 10K+ in legal fees. Bear in mind, I believe this pertains only to men. But what can you do. You're pretty much expected to have legal representation.
It's really a case by case basis. I'm not saying that you are wrong on some cases, but you are on a fair percentage of them. The Family Code sets certain guidlines for things like custody %'s, some visitation issues, etc. Having said that, the facts of the case/parties play a huge part in a number of the variables of visitation, property division and some other issues. Could you have gotten what you got on your own? Maybe. Could your wife's attorney have stuck it to you if you hadn't been represented by a competent (just my assumption) attorney? Oh hell yeah. I did my fair share of divorces when I was a baby lawyer, but quit doing them once I built my practice up to a point to where I didn't need them. Now looking back 10 years, I hate family law and wouldn't take a divorce case unless I was in dire need for money. Nobody, especially the kids in a lot of cases, "wins" IMHO. Almost everyone walks away with a sour taste in their mouth based on the emotions involved with the whole process. Their are some emotions in the civil litigation cases I handle now, but by in large part, we're just fighting over money and not all of the other things that come into play in family law cases.

I'll not get off my soapbox and head downtown for the trial on the speeding ticket I got a month or so ago. Don't worry...I have a good attorney.
