I have had great luck and have found them to make very loyal employees. I have a company that does swimming pool repairs, maintenance, and remodels.

Im going through the process of trying to find a job as a felon now. They talk alot about rehabilitation and everything when your getting out but no one wants anything to do with you. Even for those who made a mistake and are trying to really change, there is alot stacked against you. I can see why soo many people end up back in the system. IMO the only field you can really go into is some sort of trade.

The economy sucks right now and there are a lot of skilled non-felons looking for work still.

That's pretty cool of you. I made some dumb mistakes as a kid and know how hard it is to get a good gig when you've got that hanging over your head. It's part of the reason I've been with my current employer for nearly 7 years now.

              I don't understand your question.
Magnus, I am your father. You need to ask your mother about a man named Calvin Klein.

haha! I love how people still see the military as a second class organization or a good "back up" plan. We are way past the post draft days when all uncle sam required was a pulse. The military is downsizing and taking only the most highly qualified applicants.....Its good for the military as we have the best "qualified" personnel...but sucks if you are a recruiter.

I think there should be some exceptions to this but yah they're cutting people by the butt load.

I wouldn't say the MOST qualified, but it damn sure ain't what it used to be. They can be a little stricter and dont take the trash.

You should be careful with your perception of what I was suggesting. I have a stack of medals, ribbons and letters of com from my 3 tours, 2 of them in the war. When I got out I staffed a center for vets who didn't return as luckily as I did. I've done my time on the front end and I gave the extra two shits after it was all said and done. I had several friends who had the option of jail or military. I'm not saying accept the trash. However, if I had to choose between some wormy shit who never got into trouble, and the guy who doesn't mind mixing it up a little, I'm gonna go with the guy who doesn't mind mixing it up. You can teach a rebel to follow the rules, but you can't hang a set of nuts on a pussy. Just don't look right. Just because you have a record for doing something stupid doesn't mean you didn't learn and doesn't mean you can't make a career of the military. When I joined, there were enough salty dogs who knew that. From what I hear though new recruits get training time out cards and don't have to wear boondocks. Perhaps you're suggesting the military has gone a bit too far with the kindler gentler thing? Maybe a few guys who raised a little hell and payed for it is just what we need in this fledgling first class organization. WTF is a 'second class' organization anyways? Are you suggesting the guys in the military before a person such as yourself served were involved in an inferior organization? I'm wondering if that implication would be as well received with the last couple generations of vets...

well most is relative to what used to be "workable" It sucks sometimes when you meet a good kid that made a poor decision at 16 years old...God knows I was no saint at that age.
