From Regional Finance in Arlington. I'm on someone's list as an individual that needs financial help. And, I just might be in need........ after all, I have been unemployed since July last year.......
So I see the rediculous interest rate and figure what the hell, I will just pay it off quick somehow..... when I get back working and whatever. Meantime I can use the cash. Time for first payment comes around and I'm LATE on it. Very next day My phone starts ringing and it's them. I tell them the check's in the mail, lol. They tell me if the get it tomorrow they can waive the late fee this ONE time, but they have no grace period, la la la...
Ok so a couple days go by and no check.... they call and I told them I had gotten the check OUT of the mailbox and would drop it by.
Basically I am just stringing them along for a bit while I juggle finances, turns out that my good intention to pay was gonna have to wait for something that was a little more important to me, like my electric bill.
A couple more days go by and I come home to find an envelope on my front door. It's Daniel from Regional Finance. They hadn't heard from me and they wer checking to see what my situation was that had interfered with my ability to come done and pay my bill. One of the quotes was that due to my continued delenquency and failure to communicate properly with them about our agreement, I have FORCED him to pay a visit to my house so that we could work something out. Aparently I had left him "no choice".
I was livid....
My mind was coming up with all sorts of things to say to them next morning when I brought the payment in, mainly who's the shilock that I forced to show up at my house...... and do I need to be worrying about my health and my legs being broken if I can't pay... calm stuff but I was going to slash them up with some verbage that made it clear I didn't know that I had signed up to be harassed and if I was not going to tolerate a loan shark sending his henchmen out to my property, blah blah.... shit I am sure they've heard much worse and probably much more of a threatening sight than myself, lol....
and then top it of with dropping $107.00 worth of pennies on their counter for them to count, hehe...
But I went in the next day and took the mature route and other than ribbing them a little bit about their tactics it went rather well and they are nice people just doing their job and after all I did sign up saying I knew the terms and would pay on the due date. They then offered to help me out by letting me delay next months payment til the end of Feb and basically start the loan over again since I'd only just started, hell all it would do is tack one more payment onto the end of the whole deal.
All kinds of ways for them to get their hooks in you, and they make it very clear that they are NOT going away and will stay on your ass every way they can, ever day until you follow through with a new agreement or pay up. I'm sure that's the only way they stay in business is to have extremely agressive collectors, along with the thinly disguise veil of bending over backwards to help you, even if you can only pay $56.00 this month, we will restructure the terms to help you now but screw you later.
Just keep a steady stream of payment money coming in and they'll be alright. They'll just milk more out of you on the back end.
Anyway this is turning into a book. The final chapter is I went in there yesterday and paid off the full amount, taking away from them the $700.00 they'd hoped to make off of me. They were floored and noticabaly disappointed when I told them I would just pay it in full.
But all this to say, at the the moment the check came and I needed it... and, they'd be more than helpful to me if I needed another loan in the futre, lol. Of course it would be for a MUCH bigger amount.
