I know. But the "contributors" came up with the list, not RS.

By the way, Thompsons stuff I remember was from the '70's as a teenager. My uncle was a regular reader and I always "borrowed" his issues.

I related a lot more to him then, anyway.

And you're really coming across as a self-important codger. What does Hendrix have to do with this discussion all of the sudden? Because I don't recognize EVH as Buddah means I suddenly don't have respect for Hendrix or his influence?

No, No. My point is that there are/were just a few innovative guys that really influenced younger players, and he's mentioned an awful lot. He's no Hendrix. Hell, he never influenced me, other than listening to some techniques.

Only reason I don't mind Eddie is because of his influence on others. Even Randy Rhoads.

There's Eruption all over that solo...

Randy Rhoads was a strait-up bad ass in his own right.

Not to mention they were playing at the same level at the same time, same age.

Eddie made it big before Rhoads. He's also admitted in articles how much of an influence Eddie was on his playing. No one knew who Randy was in the 70's.

Eddie sucked you in with the tapping solos, then you realized his rhythm playing and hooks were off the charts. Easily one of the most influential players of all time.

drop dead legs is one of the best VH songs ever.

This thread cracks me up, typical DFWM bullshit going on where someone is telling someone else their opinion is wrong.
