  • Raffle ?

A buddy of mine was telling me about a truck that was raffled a couple of weeks ago & it went really well. I have never heard of this way to raffle something. The truck was a 2006 F250. He sold 150 tickets. Each ticket was numbered from 1-150. All the tickets were placed in a bag & everyone draws from the bag. What ever # you draw is the amount of money you pay for the ticket.

For instance, if you draw #28 then you would pay $28.00 & if you draw #129 then you pay $129 for that ticket & so on. The guy that won the truck drew #9 so he paid $9.00 for his ticket. Has anyone ever heard of this type of raffle? Buddy of mine has a Harley Davidson that he has been thinking of selling & thought this might be a good idea for him.

    Thanks!

Isn't it illegal to raffle something off for personal profit?

Sounds about right. I just never heard of this way before. From what I was told, the tickets sold pretty quick.

The way they told me to figure out how much you get in return per amount of tickets sold is like this.

You take 150 times 151 then divide the total by 2.

                  150 x 151 = 22650 / 2 = $11,325.00
