Fort Worth bars

Anyone know any good bars in Fort Worth, preferably downtown area? I somehow managed to get tasked with planning the after dinner entertainment for a friend's suprise birthday party, and am not having any luck. I already looked into Pete's Piano Bar (booked), and the Pour House (show UFC)because everyone wants to see/hear some live music. No really into the country music thing, so Billy Bob's and similar are out too.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. TIA

Went to 8.0s after my friends wedding, it was pretty fun. Live band playing outside. Patio is pretty good if the weather is nice.

Most of the "trendy" places usually have at least a $5 cover but if you're bringing a big group they might waive it. 8.0s did for us.

I think the weather is supposed to get damn cold Saturday, so 8.0s would probably be a buzzkill, literally. It is badass in the Spring though. We have like 14 people.

Flying Saucer is my favorite, but Houston street bar isn't too bad either just for some drinks and there is always Fox and Hound

The Saucer would be my choice. Not a fan of teh Library or the Pour House.

8.0's is usually fun. And they didnt kick me out for breaking a beer bottle out of discouragement for not making the top10 in their halloween contest.

Look into "The smoke pit" Hooters girls dont have shit on their bikini waitresses.

Try the basement bar (lola's) in the stockyards ... not all country music. They have a live band most nights and its a cool atmosphere.

Another place I would look into is fox and hound downtown. My first choice would be the basement.

Flying Saucer wins hands down. Good bear, live music, and not over crowded. After 9pm, there's a $2 cover charge but it's worth not putting up with the B.S. you get in other bars. Beers a little more expensive, but you're also getting more potent stuff, plus they usually have a firesale for $3 drafts of a certain type of beer.

The Library sucks ass unless you want to go to a bar packed shoulder to shoulder where it takes 30 minutes to get a drink and smells like vomit. The library is a 21 year olds bar. Yeah, there are some hotties there, but there are hotties in most bars.
