He did everything he could. What, was he supposed to put the dude in an armbar at 80 years old and drag him to the police station? He told the authorities, they did nothing.

If you think that only went on for 5 years, you're being naive.

How about making a big fucking deal about it? Fire the guy, publically report why and force the hand of the DA. Or tell someone at the school and hope something happens as an old creep continues to throw spackle on a young back.

Everything is assumptions and then the media got ahold of it and started blowing out accusations left and right, forcing them to just clean house and wipe the boards hands of it clean. Paterno was a scapegoat. He didn't do anything wrong, and did all that he could. Why did nothing ever come out of the Syracuse deal? Haven't heard shit about that one.

BTW Paterno cant fire anybody. The board is in charge.

I'm pretty sure Paterno could have held a press conference and said "It has been brought to my attention that Jerry Sandusky has been molesting children. I have presented this information to the board of directors and asked for them to terminate his employment. So far, nothing has been done."

It's not like he never had access to a news camera or somebody willing to interview him.
