People did the same thing for hundreds of years (popping out massive amounts of kids), but the infant mortality rate is a fraction of what it was even 50 years ago, and we're living 20+ years longer than we did pre-WWII.

    China has the right idea.

Good to hear, I posted her on FB when I heard about her. Had a couple bites but no one serious.

Zero. Even if I did, would still have pits. Would they be around kids unsupervised? Nope.

If you have to worry about your dog harming your kids when you aren't watching there is definitely a problem. Come on now.

It's not worrying about it. It's being cautious an responsible. NO child should be left around ANY dog (or cat) unsupervised. Its irresponsible to believe otherwise.

Yes, if I have a lunch break, I usually watch her then. I am surprised you don't have her DVR'd. Add a few years and you two would be a match made in heaven!

Dumbest logic you could come up with. Even if you were "supervising" what are you going to do if your pit, like greased lightening, latches onto you kid's throat? Not a thing until it's too late.

The same thing is said for the Hood Rat thugs running around this city. They can be rehabilitated! Rehabilitated with a Glock 40!

When's the last time you saw a news story about a Siamese cat mauling a baby to death?

There are plentiful statistics (that I'm too lazy to look up) about how many babies are suffocated by cats sitting on their faces wile they're asleep

I'll venture to guess that more kids are strangled by mini-blind cords than suffocated by cats.

Those that say "my pit would never do that, it's the best dog in the world" have not seen one attack and severly injure a person. I have, and it was one of those "lick you to death lap dog Pits". When you get older you'll realize that some animals are just not good to have as pets. If you keep a pit around kids, you love your dog more than your child, period.

I bet there were warning signs, but they chose to ignore them. My current Rottie is a loveable lap dog, all she wants to do is love you, but she growled at me over a bone once, after she was spayed, she growled at me because she was hurt, she nipped at the nurse at the vet. Those are all warning signs that she is not to be trusted, that under high stress, she gets angry and she also gets angry over territory.

Loveable as she might be under 99% of circumstances, I do not trust her with kids and I do not trust her with people.

My last rottie never once growled at me or another person. He didn't care about his territory, I could drop the fattest steak right in front of him, let him takes two licks and pick it right up, I could reach into his mouth and take it out. Even when he was hurt, he wouldn't growl about it. I went under the house to run some cable and he thought it was dangerous, so he grabbed me by the shoe and drug me out. I trusted that dog more than I trusted most people.

Well said. When I got my rescue dog I was uneasy at first but after seeing weeks, months and later years go by of her never growling or geting rough unless you played with her it was an assuring feeling.
