That reminds me of the scene in "Everybody Hates Chris" where he goes missing and his mom calls the police. The cop asks if he's white or black, the mom says black and the cop hangs up.

Are you quoting all of the correct statutes, etc? I have one that works fairly well. I always ask that if they deny, that I request a final ruling from the AG's office.

I'm not sure what you mean, but my request was on my own records. I got screwed by the administration and they would not admit or tell me who sanitized my file. I tried to file a FOI and the city refused and requested an opinion from the AG. The AG agreed to protect the city.

I was given discipline by the city, after it was administered, a Deputy Chief found out, pulled the discipline out of my file and gave me 3 days off without pay (then about a $900 fine because I could not work any part time jobs for those days).

Let someone from the press file one and they will have the info in 24 hours. How do you think the media gets dash cam footage so quick? Try requesting that as an individual. Stevo, it sounds like you hit a major glitch in the communications process. ANY "arson in progress" calls would be sent as a Priority 1 call where I'm at, and believe me, any responding officer would love to get that call and catch the suspects in the act. Arson is a damn serious crime, and we have lost firemen while fighting fires caused by arson. That is Capital Murder. The PD's job is to respond and neutralize the suspect(s) while FD puts out the fire and the arson investigator does his job.

No need to call IAD on this one, because the ball stops with communications. I would call the communications office and ask to speak with the head of that department and voice your problem. It should get results. If not, then file a complaint with the Chief of Police or your City Manager. What happened that night is plain wrong. There should be 3 SMFs in jail.
