I called December 31 to verify I was still enrolled and haven't got my check yet either. So I called again and re-verified about a week ago and still haven't seen shit. I had no clue about any cuts until I read your post. Good thing me and my wife had some money set back but we're burning through it pretty quick. Fuck my blood pressure is up now.

I know. I'm on a a fixed budget, and the one month I need to buy a couple Christmas presents, I get a tiny check, two months in a row.
They just no longer cover the gaps between semesters, and since mine was 30 days (Dec 9-Jan 9), I'm super fucking broke. Thank God I had a little cash saved.

I had to inform my little brother who's serving now and pulling the Montgomery GI bill (they talked him out of the Post 9/11 one) that he wasn't getting paid for January until maybe February. They had him convinced he'd have his money in 2 weeks. I said "Yeah, think 2 months and be ready to fight them over it because it'll be short."

He found out I am wise to this a few days ago when they told him they're still 'processing his claim.'

Tell me about it, the VA told me I would get half BAH for the month of Dec and Jan because of class only being two weeks in both months. How the fuck is $573 half of $1563? Thanks VA, you guys hooked it up on the two month I really needed money.

It's sad the way they treat us. I know I have PTSD and a hurt knee and major hearing loss but they only rated me at 20% from the two surgeries I got?? I'm like WTF? I'm still in the process of fighting that rating. Plus I've got to be "strapped" every time I go to the VA hospital because of the location and all the brothers standing outside asking for money "claiming" they're an injured vet. Sorry pieces of shit, the VA and the homies that surround the hospital.

I burned up half my program using the GI bill and then they told me about the 9/11 one. Pays better, faster and more efficiently. Well that's burned out and now looking at Hazlewood act

You can use the hazlewood act at the same time. Im on Chapter 30 (MGIBILL), and in my area, I come out a little ahead than if I was using the post 9/11. The hazelwood act pays the school, and I use the GIbill money for rent. Use the hazlewood act asap.

Frost, there is no point in screaming at a three star. The cuts arnt just to you, its everyone using the GI Bill. Did that accomplish anything?

Yea, I got a letter in the summer. It said straight up in the first line "President Barrack Obama has cut...". The VA straight up called him out by name. I laughed.
I don't think its fair to cut something that I got when I signed up in december 2003. That just dosnt seem fair.

Okay, week 3 of the VA's "Myheath e-vet" not allowing me to refill my prescriptions. DAmmit. I'm working on staying away from here as much as possible because it gets me riled up but damn I love this site.

Sorry, had to rant. Running low on my calm meds and burning through them like Obama through tax dollars. Also means no sleep meds so this should get interesting in a few days.

I saw my stepdad deal with the VA all the way to his grave and talk about a complete cluster fuck. 2 tours in Vietnam as a green beret and he had boils all over from agent orange and the VA kept discounting it. Wouldnt honor his disability and kept sending him in for more tests and question forms promising him his disability if he just "followed the process".

Ill never forget the look on his face when I showed up at his house one sunday and he was filling out a form for them and he ran into the question asking him to list all the names of people he killed while in Vietnam.

He eventually passed away in his mid 60's even though he looked like he was in his 90's. Poor guy went through hell and back and although I have some real issues with the way the VA handled him all the way till hospice, they did treat him good when he got there.

Made me feel better. He apologized for the Army and the VA losing me after my injury, especially because he was in Sadr City when it happened
