I was actually looking at the GoPro Hero2 for my next helicopter pig hunt. I used a rail mount camera last year and the quality kinda sucked and after seeing some footage shot at the Safari Club show this past weekend I was sold. I'm just not exactl sure how I'm going to mount it to my weapon.

1. Any suggestions on how to shoot the best quality videos other than using the 1080 setting?
2. How well does the suction cup mount work when filming something like a car ride (i.e. too much vibration)?
3. What's the purpose of the WiFi backpack that's coming out next month? I don't really understand what it can be used for.
4. What software do you use to edit your videos? The video I posted of my Nova in the other forum I converted so that I could use Win Movie Maker. GoPro's website offers CineForm Studio, but I don't know anything about it.
5. The files are fairly large. What's the best way to compress them so that I can do something like send one in an email?
TIA.
1. like skidmark said 720p@60 will do just fine.
2. works great. been using them for awhile in production gigs.
3. meh.
4. Cineform Studio is free. Easy to use. both mac and PC friendly.
5. I usually just use a FTP site and send whoever needs to view it a link via email. They can just download on there end. Sometimes you can get away with converting it to a .mp4 codec or a .mov, just depends.

I got one, but haven't played with it too much yet. Took a couple of helmet cam vids and the suction cup worked without issue for that.
I believe the WiFi option is going to allow you to upload the footage to your Cloud account, for example, so you can clear your memory card. I think it'll also allow you to upload directly to Youtube if you want. I asked about it when I bought it, but don't remember the specifics. I just remember thinking it wasn't something I was likely to use.
