And wow...just two weeks ago I drove through there and bought a case of cans and a six-pack of the bottles. Haven't drunk any of them yet.

Doc's website says that dr pepper snapple and Dublin dr pepper reached an agreement in January 2012 that they can still distribute cane sugar dr pepper, they just don't bottle it.

Hopefully that distribution means it'll be staying in the fountains here in Waco. Dublin DP being in all of the fountains here is one of the few positibves about this place.

He didn't really sell out to them by choice. He sold out because it was the only way out of the contract dispute he was in with DP/Snapple. Originally, DP was going to shut that place down, but Bill Kloster (Jeff's dad), knew the jobs and the plant meant everything to the community of Dublin, and he worked out a deal to keep making the original recipe there. One of the conditions of that contract was that they couldn't distribute DDP further than 40 miles away, and they started breaking that contract a few years ago when grocery stores started asking them to deliver to the metroplex and Austin. Jeff got greedy, and wouldn't back down from the fight with DP/S. They still never ran more than 4 days a week, and only on a day shift, so it's not like they really ever had that much demand. The Temple facility will be able to handle every bit of DDP's old business, if they chose to, but it's a shame that the pride of that community will be cut out of it. Now it won't have much else.
