TDLR= TX Dept of Licensing and Regulation.
I had a reminder set to renew my TDLR registration for the towing company on Friday. With my flatbed going down Friday morning, the rest of the day went to shit. I completely forgot about my renewal. I remembered just now and got on the website so I could pay the money and move on. I had a tow to do and was going to print my updated info so I could run the tow.
Well they charged me an additional $287.50 in late filing fees in order to renew everything! That seems a bit exorbitant if you ask me, especially being that its only 3 days late!!! That's the price I gotta pay for my forgetfulness, just have to eat and move on! So the system debits my bank account, but instead of getting a completion screen to print my receipt I instead received "The Page Cannot Be Found"!!!!!!!!
So not only do they fucking rip me off for $287.50 in late filing fees, the god damn website crashes so I can't get my proper paper work in order. The tow I'm missing out on was $115 for a pick up at the FWPD impound coming back to Arlington. I had to call the customer and explain that it was my mistake and sorry for wasting his time, etc. The impound won't let you in without all your paperwork being up-to-date.
Well its all my fault and I take the blame for it, but FUCK YOU to the state of Texas and Texas Dept of Licensing and Regulation! Every year my fees go up anyways and this one time I was late you decide to charge me an additional $287.50 on top of $525 for "on-time" renewal. Just make it harder and more expensive for people to do business with you. Soon enough we will become California or Michigan and no one will be able to afford to live or work here!!!!
