What happened to all the ricers?

their are a few by my place in rowlett that still live a quarter mile at a time.

one guy has a 240 mat black with hot pink rims and the tail pipes damn near reach the deck lid. he works at Mc Donald’s off miller.

I gotta admit I always enjoyed having the rice boys around when I was younger and was racing all the time. It was fun to make fun of em. I think the fad ended when the fast and furious crowd realized that imports aren't actually fast in real life.

The only ones i see regularly is 240sx. Every kid in my neighborhood pretty much has one a few are pretty fast.

I was amazed at what they can make with an sr20 swap. I almost bought one this summer that made 445rw and weighed 2700lbs.

An import can be fast, just not with the 7 dollars an hour they make at McDonald's. And eventually, there's no replacement for displacement.

The 911 seems to bring them out of the woodwork....fairly frequent that I'll have some fart canner trying to get next to me...then eventually downshift and speed away once they realize I'm not at all interested....funny thing is, I wonder how many of them have gone back to their friends bragging about beating a 911 b/c they sped off away from me when I wasn't even racing them.

I've also had several of those lnfinity G-cars pull up on me....I gave one a go once, and it was bad enough that I wasn't sure if he was really racing or not.

I haven't had any Mustangs pull up on me, but several Vettes and newer Camaro's have....seems they always want to go.

I think 911's are kinda like Grand Nationals in a way. Most people seem to be really unfamiliar with them by specific models and aren't sure which ones are the "fast" ones. So that's probably why you get picked on so much. I love 911's, amazing little cars. They're one of those cars you get it, or you don't.

pretty sure the ones around here are RB20 swaps. but i dont really keep with what there doing. i talk to the guy across the street every now in then last i heard he was getting stuff together for a lsx swap.
