  • electric blanket?

i have a family member who is having a pretty bad string of luck(lost job, divorced, etc.), and is having to stay in a garage that was loosely turned into a room. i had to sleep out there when i was a teenager and i can tell you this, it gets fucking cold! well i figured i'd help him out & buy him an electric blanket to help, but holy fuck those things are expensive. went to wally world and they were $100, i wanna help him out but i'm almost broke like everyone else and have my own bills that need to be paid.

does anyone know of a place locally that sells them cheaper? i'll pay the money if that is how much they cost, but if they can be found cheaper please post up where

oh and the said person is not some drunk/addict, he is actually a AA counselor and has been sober for ~15yrs. even though he is down to almost nothing he still goes to every meeting he can to help others

    thanks

Craigslist? Goodwill? Another family member may have one? A pile of quilts would work also.

very small family, but yea already asked and nobody has one. my buddy went looking for one for his girlfriend and hit up a bunch of goodwills/thrift stores with no luck

like i said i lived out there for more than a few winters and yes a pile of quilts work but they weigh so much it damn near suffocates you

Yeah, but the warmth under them feels so good in the mornings. I always do this each winter prior to turning the heater on.

I've got some extra cash that I'd be willing to throw in if you want the help. Just PM me if you're interested.
